BARLAND MOTTE

There is a 10 foot high mound which is the remains of a square tower keep and the foundations of an outer wall. It is thought to have been built in the mid 12th century, but may have been occupied for less than 200 years. It is less than a mile away from Burfa Castle and 2 miles from Evenjobb Castle
