The remains of the motte and bailey castle are located immediately west of St John The Baptist Church. There is an oval motte measuring approximately 110 by 100 feet at the base and 25 feet high. It is surrounded by a ditch, part of which is visible on the northern side. The bailey is to the north of the motte, measures approximately 200 by 100 feet and was originally protected by a bank and ditch. Part of the site has been damaged by building over the last two centuries.
