The ring work at Pennington Castle Hill is situated on a hill over looking Lindall in Furness. The site is severely damaged on the north side where the escarpment drops away. The remains consist of a rampart covering an area of 156 by 132 feet with a very slight outer ditch only visible in small sections. It is thought this site was the precursor to Muncaster Castle, but continued in use up until the early 14th century.
