KIRBY MUXLOE CASTLE

A red brick built fortified manor house built in 1480 on the site of a 14th century moated manor house. It was never completely finished as the builder, Lord Hastings, was executed in 1483. The gatehouse and one of the towers remain, surrounded by the 60 feet wide moat.
