KING'S COURT A Royal Palace that may have originally been built in wood in the 11th Century, but which was constructed in stone in the first half of the 13th Century. It was demolished by King Edward 111 after the death of his wife in 1369. Nothing now remains above ground. Photos Andrew Tivenan
