ERDDIG CASTLE


ERDDIG CASTLE

Also known as Wristleham or Wrexham Castle. An 11 feet high motte, surrounded by a ditch, remains along with the bailey which is also protected by a ditch. It is first mentioned in mid 12th century.

It overlooks the River Clywedog in Erddig Country Park. It is in the grounds of Erdigg Hall which is managed by National Trust.
