EDBURTON CASTLE RINGS


EDBURTON CASTLE RINGS

A motte and bailey castle situated at the edge of the Downs with views to the coast and over the Weald. It is thought ot have been constructed in the immediate post-Conquest period, soon after October 1066. The worn motte is 100 feet in diameter and 6 feet high and was enclosed by a ditch.
