Barland Motte

In the community of Old Radnor.
In the historic county of Radnorshire (Modern authority of Powys, preserved county of Powys).

A mound, 23-26m in diameter and 3.2m high, set on the S edge of a c.50m square enclosure, defined by scarps to the E and S, a c.13m wide ditch to the N and a stepped bank to the NW, which together with the mound may represent tumbled buildings. Remfry writes 'motte' is remains of collapsed rectangular tower of hunting lodge type castle possible of masonry from the start.
