Castell Wladus, Pencaer

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Castell cleddau; Castell Cleddyf, Y Castell

In the community of Pencaer.
In the historic county of Pembrokeshire (Modern authority of Pembrokeshire, preserved county of Dyfed).

RCAHMW record of defended enclosure of unknown date, DAT record of possible ringwork, possible Iron Age Hillfort (SMRN 2490). Scheduled as Prehistoric enclosure. On slope (on springline) facing the sea and small bay. A curving scarp, 0.5m high (in 1963), appears to delineate the SW section of a hillslope enclosure, c.56m diameter, faint scarps indicate the N part, the E area being covered by farm buildings and yards.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Questionable.
Cropmarks/slight earthworks remains.

This site is a scheduled monument protected by law.
