In the community of Llanfyllin.
In the historic county of Montgomeryshire (Modern authority of Powys, preserved county of Powys).

A ditched mound, set towards the W end of an E-W ridge, with steep slopes on the N and S, c.27-28m in diameter and 4.2m high, having a somewhat irregular summit, c.10m by 8.0m. On the E is a scarped bailey platform, c.18m by 22m, there is a further possible platform to the W.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Certain.
Earthworks remains.

This site is a scheduled monument protected by law.
