Wallston Castle

In the community of Wenvoe.
In the historic county of Glamorgan (Modern authority of Vale of Glamorgan, preserved county of South Glamorgan).

Marked on old OS map as 'Wallston Castle, remains of' this designation was wrongly accepted, and Wallston was identified as the medieval Wenvoe Castle on the basis of the location of that castle given by Leland. It is now believed that the location was distorted and that Wenvoe Castle (qv) lies 2km south. Wallston was an Elizabethan house pertaining to a large freehold but was never called a castle.

This site has been described as a;
Masonry Castle.
This site is rejected as a medieval fortification or palace.
