Marsh House, East Aberthaw

In the community of Rhoose.
In the historic county of Glamorgan (Modern authority of Vale of Glamorgan, preserved county of South Glamorgan).

Salter writes 'brick structure resembling the stone built Plantation period bawns in Ireland was erected by Thomas Spencer in the 1630's. A loopholed wall 0.6m thick and 2.3m high surrounded a court 30m long by 19m wide' Part of the site, including the site of a slightly later house, is under ash from the nearby power station. Although this is clearly an interesting site I am at a loss as to why Salter includes it in a book of medieval castles. I've rejected this as a medieval fortification.

This site has been described as a;

This site is rejected as a medieval fortification or palace.
