Gelli Garn Ringwork

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; St Mary Hill; Hill House

In the community of Llangan.
In the historic county of Glamorgan (Modern authority of Vale of Glamorgan, preserved county of South Glamorgan).

Small ringwork and bailey given to Neath Abbey in C12. A ditch and banked circular enclosure, c.14m internal and 25-6m overall diameter, with a sub-rectangular, ditched and banked enclosure, its N part obscured, c.36m N-S by 27m, on the E.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Certain.
Earthworks remains.

This site is a scheduled monument protected by law.
