In the historic county of Anglesey (Modern authority of Anglesey, preserved county of Gwynedd).

Motte and Bailey Castle attributed to Hugh (Lupus) of Avranches, Earl of Chester, and thought to have been raised in 1088-90. C17 civil war fortlet on top.
