Talley Mound

In the community of Talley.
In the historic county of Carmarthenshire (Modern authority of Carmarthenshire, preserved county of Dyfed).

North of the ruins of Talley Abbey on the isthmus between two lakes lies a motte rising some 4.5m and 7.5m across at the top. Nothing is known about the history of the site. Described as a shapeless motte or possible natural feature, scheduled as a motte.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Earthworks remains.

This site is a scheduled monument protected by law.
