Pier Camp, Bangor

In the community of Bangor.
In the historic county of Caernarfonshire (Modern authority of Gwynedd, preserved county of Gwynedd).

Slight traces of castle earthwork. Scheduled as a prehistoric unclassified earthwork and otherwise listed in CARN as a ?Roman ?defended enclosure. Is this the castle of Hugh Earl of Chester recorded by Camden as vanished in his time but said to have situated on the "upon the verie entry of" the Menai straight. (This castle seems normally to be identified as Aber (q.v.)
