In 1431 Nov 15, William de la Zouche, miles was granted, by Henry VI, (In year 10 of his reign) a Confirmation licence to crenellate Haryngworth (Harringworth Manor)

The wording of this licence is;

"Inspeximusand confirmation, by advice and assent of the lords spiritual and temporal in the Parliament held at Westminster in the king's first year, to William la Zouche, knight, kinsman and heir of William la Zouche of Totteneys, and his heirs, of a charter dated 8 May, 10 Richard II, being a licencefor the said William la Zouche of Totteneys to make his manor (manerium) of Haryngworth into a castle. [Charter Roll 9 and 10 Richard II, 3.]"

Granted at Westminster, by King and Council in Parliament.


The 1431 entry is a charter of Inspeximus and confirmation of the 1387 entry.
