In 1339 Oct 25, Oliverus de Denham (Oliver Dinham) was granted, by Edward III, (In year 13 of his reign) a Confirmation licence to crenellate Sampford Peverell (Sampford Peverell)

The wording of this licence is;

"Exemplification under the seal now in use of letters patent, dated 23 July, 11 Edward III. being a licence for Oliver de Denharn to crenellate the dwelling-place of his manor of (mansum manerii de) Sampford Peverell, co. Devon."

Granted at Westminster,


Licence to crenellate granted to Oliver Dinham in 1337 and 1339. The later an exemplification, under the seal now in use, of the previous.
