In 1293 Feb 22, Robertus de Percy was granted, by Edward I, (In year 21 of his reign) a Royal licence to crenellate Boulton (Bolton Percy)

The wording of this licence is;

"Licence for Robert de Percy to crenellate his dwelling-houses (mansum) of Sutton and Boulton, co. York."

Granted at Darley,


Joint licence with Sutton, The entry is on membrane 21 of the rolls dated 22 Feb and on membrane 17 dated 23 Feb.
