West Lulworth Castle

In the civil parish of West Lulworth.
In the historic county of Dorset (Modern Authority of Dorset, 1974 county of Dorset).

Castle is documented at West Lulworth 1142 when it was taken by the Earl of Gloucester. This was probably at the recorded site of a C13 manor house by the now lost church of St Andrew at ref given, however some authors locate this at the site now occupied by the Grade 1 listed hunting lodge of 1610 now bearing the name of Lulworth Castle (SY855821)

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Nothing visible remains.
