Gommerock

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Gomerock; Godmerock; Dertemuth

In the civil parish of Kingswear.
In the historic county of Devon (Modern Authority of Devon, 1974 county of Devon).

The ruined remains of a Medieval fortified house, possible that of lodging licensed 1402 to John Corp. They comprise a five sided structure with walls between 1.2 and 1.8m thick and standing to 5m in height. It appears to have been mentioned in grants of 1481 and 1486 and may well be older. It was surveyed by RCHME in 1996.

This site has been described as a;
Fortified Manor House.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Certain.
Masonry ruins/remnants remains.

This site is a scheduled monument protected by law.
