Thurnham Hall

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Turneham Hall

In the historic county of Yorkshire West Riding (Modern Authority of , 1974 county of ).

Emery lists that a licence to crenellate was granted to John Pylkington in 1477. Called Thurnham by Emery but spelt Turneham in the rolls. I can find no reference to a Thurnham hall in Yorkshire. There is a Thurnham Hall in Lancashire, reasonably close to the Yorkshire border but this has never been in Yorkshire as far as I can tell and appears to have been a property of the Greys in 1477. Turnham Hall, nr Cliffe, is in Yorkshire but does not seem to have been a property of Pylkington

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Nothing visible remains.

A Royal licence to crenellate was granted in 1477 May 28.
