Hall Bank Motte, Embleton

In the civil parish of Embleton.
In the historic county of Cumberland (Modern Authority of Cumbria, 1974 county of Cumbria).

Alleged site of earthworks representing a possible motte 40m north to south by 16m with evidence for ditches. There is also evidence of an occupation deposit of uncertain date. There is nothing visible on aerial photographs. This would be in a loop of a stream, just north of the isolated St Cuthbert Church, which may represent a DMV.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Nothing visible remains.
