Castleford

In the historic county of Yorkshire (Modern Authority of , 1974 county of ).

King writes nothing known of possible castle mentioned by Leland "in very dubious terms". Leland writes 'Next to the churchyard I was shown a garden in which many curious building foundations have been discovered. My informant said that it was the site of a castle, but I think rather that it had been some manor house.'
