Buknahams

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Bokenhams; The Place

In the civil parish of Bradenham.
In the historic county of Norfolk (Modern Authority of Norfolk, 1974 county of Norfolk).

Robert Drury was granted, in 1510, licence to crenellate his manors of Hansted Hall, Buknahams and Onhowshalle, Suff. Medieval moated site south west of Bradenham Hall. The moated island is roughly D-shaped in plan and is enclosed by a 1.5m deep moat, now dry. Two raised areas on the island are thought to mark the sites of buildings while a hollow probably represents a former pond.

This site has been described as a;
Fortified Manor House.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Earthworks remains.

A Royal licence to crenellate was granted in 1510 March 8.

This site is a scheduled monument protected by law.
