Hanworth Manor

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Hanworth Palace

In the civil parish of Hounslow.
In the historic county of Middlesex (Modern Authority of London Borough of Hounslow, 1974 county of Greater London).

There is no mention of Hanworth Park before the early C16, suggesting it was a creation of either the Crosby family as owners of the manor, or of the King. In Henry VIII's reign it was a royal seat. In 1629 a wall was built to enclose the park. The house was destroyed by fire in 1797 and a replacement built a little to the South -East by the Duke of St Alban's shortly after. The only remains of the site are a pair of late C18 alcoves for garden seats, fireplace arches to the South and West of Tudor House, and the West arm of the moat. The former stables, built circa 1770, have been converted to form Tudor Court flats. The rest of the site has been redeveloped for modern housing.
