Collyweston House

In the civil parish of Collyweston.
In the historic county of Northamptonshire (Modern Authority of Northamptonshire, 1974 county of Northamptonshire).

Earthworks, garden terraces, two fishponds and park boundary banks. The visible remains of Collyweston House (built 1412-1441) and it's park, demolished and dispersed in 1720. A sundial is all that remains of a great royal palace that once stood in Collyweston. It was a favourite of Margaret Beaufort, mother of King Henry VII and grandmother of King Henry VIII. It was the principal residence of Henry Fitzroy, Duke of Richmond, Henry VIII illegitimate son, from 1531-1536
