Lime Copse, Froxfield

In the civil parish of Froxfield.
In the historic county of Hampshire (Modern Authority of Hampshire, 1974 county of Hampshire).

Research has suggested this may be the site of a motte and bailey castle. Fieldwork noted that Lime Copse appears to retain the look of a low motte with a 1.5m high platform still visible. Other earthworks point to this conclusion. The name Bailey Green indicates a possible bailey which is believed to have lain to the west of Lime Copse. The research does not claims to have conclusively discovered a motte and bailey.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
