In the historic county of Sussex (Modern Authority of East Sussex, 1974 county of East Sussex).

Residential manor of the Bishop of Chichester. Included in licence to crenellate obtain by Bishop Moleynes in 1447. General plan and parts of fabric survive in manor house.

The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Masonry ruins/remnants remains.

A Royal licence to crenellate was granted in 1447 Oct 28.
