Headstone Manor, Pinner

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Headstone House

In the civil parish of Harrow.
In the historic county of Middlesex (Modern Authority of London Borough of Harrow, 1974 county of Greater London).

Moated manor house first mentioned in 1396. Replace Sudbury Court (qv) as the archbishops main Middlesex residence. Used as an occasional residence by successive Archbishops of Canterbury during C14 and C15. Remnants of earlier C15, but mostly C16 with C17 wing. Brick facing, partly C18 (on south-west front). Interior has much later C16 and C17 timber. At east end is remaining bay of original aisled hall with contemporary cross wing. Small 2-light window to west with horned, leaded panes. Surrounded by moat and situated in the park.
