Richmond Palace

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Richemont; Sheen Palace; Shene

In the civil parish of Richmond And Kew.
In the historic county of Surrey (Modern Authority of London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, 1974 county of Greater London).

Remains of the palace built by Henry VII on the site of the palace of Sheen. Successively demolished from C17 and converted to residential dwellings. The original Tudor palace was used less frequently by the royal family from the reign of George I onwards, and by the later part of the reign of George III, several new buildings had been created as part of the schema for Richmond and Kew Parks, replacing the palatial functions of the Tudor palace.
