Romsley Castle Hill

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Great Castle Hill

In the civil parish of Romsley.
In the historic county of Worcestershire (Modern Authority of Worcestershire, 1974 county of Hereford and Worcester).

Placenames Castle Hill and Great Castle Hill, possibly indicating the site of an Iron Age hillfort or Medieval castle. Nothing was visible on aerial photographs taken in 1948. The reference given is in valley but at SO949279 there is the peak of a steep hill. The position of this hill would be consistent an Iron Age hill fort but not with a medieval castle unless it was reusing existing earthworks. The hill is prominent enough to have gained a castle placename purely because of its form.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Questionable.
Nothing visible remains.
