Darlaston

In the civil parish of Wolverhampton.
In the historic county of Staffordshire (Modern Authority of Wolverhampton, 1974 county of West Midlands).

Nothing known of reported castle mentioned by Moore and listed by Harvey as having earthwork remains. The whole of Darlaston has been mined and quarried for centuries and has many spoil heaps. There is another Darlaston in Staffordshire near Stone close to Bury Hill (qv) and I am certain that Moore was referring to that supposes saxon castle rather than anything in the Black Country town.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
This site is rejected as a medieval fortification or palace.
