Burton Hall, Warcop

In the civil parish of Warcop.
In the historic county of Westmorland (Modern Authority of Cumbria, 1974 county of Cumbria).

Maps of 1C17, C18 and C19 date indicate that post-medieval Burton consisted of Burton Hall - which was built on the same site as the second medieval manor house and incorporated some of the features of this earlier building. It is believed that the second medieval manor house at Burton was constructed during C15. Nothing of this second medieval house along with the post-medieval Burton Hall survives above ground. Had moat and fishponds, possibly fortified.
