Aldworth, De La Beche

In the civil parish of Aldworth.
In the historic county of Berkshire (Modern Authority of West Berkshire, 1974 county of Berkshire).

Excavation uncovered the remains of a probable Medieval fortified manor house; supposed site of a moat indicated by fishponds, a licence to crenellate of c.1338.

This site has been described as a;
Fortified Manor House.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Nothing visible remains.

A Royal licence to crenellate was granted in 1338 March 3.
