Beetham Hall

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Betham; Bytham

In the civil parish of Beetham.
In the historic county of Westmorland (Modern Authority of Cumbria, 1974 county of Cumbria).

Fortified manor house, part ruined, built in the early or mid-C14 with a curtain wall. Probably partly destroyed in 1644 and rebuilt in C17 and C19. Curtain wall. Medieval. Rubble. Slight batter to outer face which has slightly-projecting parapet on corbels; inner face has 5 long vertical chases with 4 square smalller chases between them, which the RCHME suggests were probably for theft of struts to support a timber gallery behind the parapet.

Masonry ruins/remnants remains.
