Cleobury Mortimer Castle Toot

In the civil parish of Cleobury Mortimer .
In the historic county of Shropshire (Modern Authority of Shropshire, 1974 county of Shropshire).

Medieval motte castle surviving as an earthwork with buried foundations. Fragments of walling and the remains of the gatehouse were still visible in C18 and in 1911 stones forming the base of a causeway or bridge were observed. The buried foundations are near the surface.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle
Masonry Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Certain.
Earthworks remains.
