Newtown Tower, Edlingham

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; turris de Newton juxta Edlingham

In the civil parish of Edlingham.
In the historic county of Northumberland (Modern Authority of Northumberland, 1974 county of Northumberland).

Tower was built at Newton juxta Edlingham sometime before 1335. The tower survived until 1660 when it was replaced by a farmhouse (The 1715 survey records "an old pile possest by Madam Howard" so possibly longer existence). There is no trace of the tower now. It stood on a hill and was associated with a DMV.

This site has been described as a;
Pele Tower.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Nothing visible remains.
