Ashcroft Bastle

In the civil parish of Bardon Mill.
In the historic county of Northumberland (Modern Authority of Northumberland, 1974 county of Northumberland).

Ashcroft Farm is a C19 farmhouse, but to the south are a pair of cottages formed from a range of interesting bastles. The eastern building is the earlier and 9.3m long by 6.3m wide with 1m thick walls. The second half of the cottages is made up of three other buildings, an extension to the eastern bastle, a second bastle building and the third was a single storey block.

This site has been described as a;
Bastle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Masonry ruins/remnants remains.
