Cheswick Tower

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Cheswike

In the civil parish of Ancroft.
In the historic county of Durham; North (Modern Authority of Northumberland, 1974 county of Northumberland).

It has been recorded that a tower was built at Cheswick. It must have been built after 1400, as it was not mentioned in a list compiled at that time. It stood on the north side of the village, but there is no trace of it remaining.

This site has been described as a;
Pele Tower.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Certain.
Nothing visible remains.
