Silverstone

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Selveston

In the civil parish of Silverstone.
In the historic county of Northamptonshire (Modern Authority of Northamptonshire, 1974 county of Northamptonshire).

Earthwork remains of fishponds N of the churchyard are thought to be the site of a royal hunting lodge which was first documented during the early C12. It was rebuilt several times before it ceased to be used by royalty in 1317. Appears once as a castle in 1202, but this appears to have been a mistake.

This site has been described as a;
Fortified Manor House
Palace.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Cropmarks/slight earthworks remains.
