Draughton

In the civil parish of Draughton.
In the historic county of Northamptonshire (Modern Authority of Northamptonshire, 1974 county of Northamptonshire).

Resembles a castle ringwork but rejected by King as Iron Age. The PastScape report reads "The site of a small Iron Age defended settlement, comprising a single bank and ditch enclosing an area of about 100ft internally. An excavation carried out in 1942 revealed the remains of 3 huts as well as Iron Age pottery and evidence of iron working. The site now lies on arable farmland and it is not known whether the upstanding earthworks survive." The excavation was presumably carried out prior to the building of an airfield and it's doubtful that much remains above ground.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
This site is rejected as a medieval fortification or palace.
