Castle Rising Castle
In the civil parish of Castle Rising.
In the historic county of Norfolk (Modern Authority of Norfolk, 1974 county of Norfolk).
Large squat square tower keep in massive ringwork. The ruins of a castle built circa 1140 including a well preserved keep and a late C11 church. The church was abandoned circa 1150 during construction of the keep. Scheduled and listed. In the Late Saxon period there was a settlement on the site.
