Ullerswood

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Ullersford; Ullenwood; Uttersford; Ullerwood; Castlewood; Bollin; Oversleyford

In the civil parish of Ringway.
In the historic county of Cheshire (Modern Authority of Manchester, 1974 county of Greater Manchester).

There is a mound at Ullersford which is considered to be the remains of a castle keep. Mentioned as held against the King in 1173. Harvey lists Uttersford and Ullenwood as two separate sites. PastScape record this a Shell Keep but on what grounds I've no idea.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle
Masonry Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Cropmarks/slight earthworks remains.
