Cranford Bridge

In the civil parish of Hayes.
In the historic county of Middlesex (Modern Authority of London Borough of Hillingdon, 1974 county of Greater London).

Mound, possibly a motte, situated 80yds north-north-east of Cranford Bridge. Field investigations in 1957 found it to be circular in plan, with a diameter of 45ft, and about 8ft - 9ft high, enclosed by a ditch, which was mostly filled in. The mound had been mutilated by construction of a wartime block house and by road widening.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Possible.
Cropmarks/slight earthworks remains.
