Kingston upon Hull, South End chain tower

In the civil parish of Kingston upon Hull.
In the historic county of Yorkshire East Riding (Modern Authority of Kingston upon Hull; City of, 1974 county of Humberside).

The round tower at the east end of the South Town Wall was strengthened in 1541 to take the mechanism for an anti-shipping chain which anchored near the South Blockhouse on the opposite side of the River Hull. There were three chambers over the chain house. No evidence of the building now remains.

This site has been described as a;
Chain Tower.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Certain.
Nothing visible remains.
