Coldbridge Castle

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Colbridge; Colebridge; Colwebrigge; Boghton Malherbe

In the civil parish of Boughton Malherbe.
In the historic county of Kent (Modern Authority of Kent, 1974 county of Kent).

C18/C19 farmhouse incorporating remains of a medieval fortified manor house. Licences to crenellate were granted in 1313 and 1363 (To Robert Corby for 'Boghton Malherbe') and the house was probably demolished circa 1559-78. The moat, a fishpond, and what appears to be a large paddock, survive as earthworks. Doubly moated site; inner moat rectangular, outer triangular.
