Block House Point

In the civil parish of St Marys.
In the historic county of Isles of Scilly (Modern Authority of Isles of Scilly, 1974 county of Isles of Scilly).

Remains of a blockhouse, consisting of three sides of a rectangular building, the fourth side apparently destroyed, with overall dimensions of 13m by 11m. The walls are of dry-stone now covered by earth, 1.0m thick. 0.8m high on the interior, 0.9m on the exterior. The interior was obviously. Although incorporated in the Civil War breastworks by a funneled approach and probably utilized in that period, the blockhouse is possibly older. It uses large blocks of roughly dressed stone similar to C16 blockhouse on Tresco.
