In the civil parish of Freshwater.
In the historic county of Hampshire (Modern Authority of Isle of Wight, 1974 county of Isle of Wight).

Round artillery tower built by Sir James Worsley in 1539. Small, octangonal and armed only with handguns; badly sited with high ground to rear. Probably destroyed by coastal erosion.

This site has been described as a;
Artillery Fort.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Certain.
Nothing visible remains.
