Hatley

In the historic county of Huntingdonshire (Modern Authority of Cambridgeshire, 1974 county of Cambridgeshire).

Castle listed by Harvey as known to exist but with no remains. This could be any of three villages in old south Huntingdonshire; Hatley St George, East Hatley or Cockayne Hatley. There are several moats at East Hatley (including one called 'The Palace') and Hatley Park stately home is at Hatley St George. None of these is considered to be a castle site by the PastScape but C13 pottery has been found at The Palace (TL285502). It should also be noted that the manor of East Hatley was held by the Castell family from the time of Henry VII.

This site has been described as a;
Timber Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Questionable.
Uncertain remains.
